Kashi Vishwanath Temple
The Golden Temple - One of 12 Jyotirlingas
The most sacred temple in Varanasi, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The current structure was built in 1780 by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar. The temple's gold spire and dome are iconic.

Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple
Remover of Obstacles
Founded by Sant Tulsidas in the 16th century, this temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Famous for removing difficulties (Sankat Mochan means "remover of troubles").

Durga Temple (Durga Kund)
The Red Temple
Built in the 18th century in typical North Indian Nagara style. Known for its red color and beautiful architecture. Home to many monkeys, hence also called "Monkey Temple".

Tulsi Manas Temple
The Ramcharitmanas Temple
Built in 1964 at the place where Tulsidas wrote the Ramcharitmanas. Walls inscribed with verses and scenes from Ramayana in Hindi. Unique modern temple architecture.
Timing: 5:30 AM - 12:00 PM, 3:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Kaal Bhairav Temple
Guardian of Kashi
Dedicated to Kaal Bhairav, the fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva and the Kotwal (guardian) of Kashi. Pilgrims must visit here before Kashi Vishwanath for complete blessings.
Timing: 5:00 AM - 10:00 PM
Offering: Liquor offered to the deity
Significance: Guardian of the city
Annapurna Temple
Goddess of Nourishment
Dedicated to Goddess Annapurna, the goddess of food and nourishment. Located near Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Believed that no one goes hungry in Kashi due to her blessings.
Timing: 4:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Festival: Annakut (day after Diwali)
Prasad: Anna (rice) distribution

Wear modest clothing. Avoid shorts, sleeveless tops. Remove shoes before entering temples.
Photography
Most temples prohibit photography inside. Check before taking photos. Always ask permission.
Best Time
Early morning (5-8 AM) or evening (5-8 PM) for best experience. Avoid peak afternoon hours.

Maintain silence, don't touch idols, follow local customs. Be respectful of worshippers.
